One of the best websites I have ever used for children is Starfall.com. Several years ago I found it while searching for something great for my first graders. It is an even better website now with preschool through upper elementary activities for learning. All of the games, readings, math activities, etc. follow along with the standards required by the state for teachers to use in the classroom. So, a child that wants to continue learning or one that is still in the process of mastering a skill can use Starfall.com. I have even ordered the digital books on the website in print form from Amazon. The kids were amazed to have them in print. By the way, the website is completely FREE. There is a paid version, but I have never known anyone to pay since all that is needed is available.

Books need to be easily obtainable by children at all times. The online format is another way to get children interested in reading and exposed to great stories. A favorite of mine is storylineonline.net. There are dozens and dozens of interesting books that are read dramatically and humorously by actors. Kids love it and I find myself watching right along with them!

How about some Social Studies fun? Kid President on Youtube is the best. There are many episodes of him discussing fun and serious topics for kids. My students have always enjoyed him immensely since he is so entertaining.
